Delhi, lotus temple

Came back to Delhi yesterday evening by bus, chilled on  roof top terrace of our hotel with American chop souy.
Then a few drinks and pan cake desert at “my bar”.

There was actually no time for sightseeing this morning but we went anyway. The time at the lotus temple was just enough for a small amount of clicks.

Now, off to the airport, proceed to Mumbai and them to pune by bus.

@Agra fort

Finally, after 1 hour long bus ride back to agra, reached the agra fort.
Here the builder of the taj Mahal was home arrested to not build the second, black taj Mahal on the opposite side of the river. In his cell he had an excellent view to the white taj mahal

Welcome to agra

I arrived in the early morning at 4.30 in agra. The bus ride was 2 hours shorter as expected and so was sleep.
The sun rise above the taj Mahal, generally visible from the roof top terrace of our hotel, was not worth it due to heavy fog.

We decided to take the guided tour from the railway station for the 3 sites fatehpur sakri, agra fort and Taj Mahal.

Here are some pictures of the first site

Visiting Husainabad trust Lucknow

I just finished two guided tours  through the buildings mentioned in the title.
First one was about entrance defense. Water was used as mirrors. So the defence person was able to see the attacker mirrored in the water but the water was just a black spot from the attackers point of view. Also is the defence person always hid in the shadows/darkness of the building whilst the attackers, path is very bright during the day.
Second guide guided is through a maze which was in one of the buildings. First he led us to the top and then he let us guess which paths lead back to the entrance.
Both guides worth their money!

Diwali festival of lights

Yesterday was Diwali festival, aka the festival of lights in India. It is also the largest celebrated festivals in India.
Anton, Alex and I were invited to celebrate this festival with Mohit and his parents in Lucknow.
In a ceremony in the evening in mohits room we had to wear a cloth to cover our hair. Mohits father was praying in front of the shrine. two dolls, one of God laxmi and one of lord ganesha were put in front of the shrine. After the ceremony he put a red spot right above each and everyones nose and gave us a gift letter.
Just afterwards we were going in front of their flat and illuminated the hallway with countless candles. This gave a nice pic. nice to see the art work, family members produced in front of their homes. they created colourful patterns with coloured powder.
we then drove to family relatives of Mohit to burn crackers for an hour and to see the crackers of other families burning-this was indeed a light and sound burst.
Dinner was served afterwards and companied with nice conversations sometimes interrupted by the bursting noise from crackers coming from outside.
enjoy the pictures:

Flight to Lucknow – post poned

There is one sentence which exactly describes what happened this morning at 5.45 at the new Delhi airport:
“The awkward moment at the airport when you try to check in your luggage and the person behind the desk tells you that the ticket is not booked for today.”

We canceled the ticket as it clearly stated to be booked for the 13.12. Instead of 13.11. But why the hell did alex get a text from air indigo that he has to hurry for the check in just 30 minute before the flight departure?
Anyways we got a almost full refundand bought tickets from jet connect at 1.30  pm.
